Herd (Milk) Shares

We are excited to be offering our herd shares in March, 2018!

Because selling raw milk in Colorado is illegal, we never sell milk.  You pay a “boarding fee” to board your portion of a goat and for SUNSHINE ACRES to provide milking service for you.

Herd-share membership: There is a $20.00 one-time fee to become a member of the herd-share by purchasing an interest in the SUNSHINE ACRES Dairy goat herd

Boarding fees: The boarding fee is based on how much milk you are getting each week:

  • GALLON: $15/week
  • 1/2 GALLON: $10/week
  • QUART: $7/week.

Bottle deposit: There is a one-time $10 bottle deposit per bottle.  We ask that you bring back your empty, rinsed-out glass bottle every week and we will sanitize it for you and give you a new bottle filled with fresh milk!

WHERE DO I PICK UP MY MILK?

We have two locations to choose from:

ON-FARM  We are pretty flexible  here so as long as you let us know ahead of time when you will be coming, we will try to be available.

Our address 44747 E Mexico Ave Bennett, Colorado. Please follow the signs and park in the designated Goat Parking lot, then follow the path to the “Quonset” (the big white dome building). We will have a sign to help cut out any confusion!

Bass Pro Shop Parking Lot (Saturdays 1-3pm by appointment only): Located at 7970 Northfield Blvd Denver, CO 80238.

If meeting is better, we will arrange the time (between 1-3pm) and I can meet you there!

If none of these locations/times work for you, please talk to us about it and we can find something that works for all of us.

Breeding

We welcome to our farm, our newest members from GTO Ranch Mini Nubians!

Mini Nubians are a cross between a Nubian and a Nigerian Dwarf goat. We chose this specific breed because we love the taste of Nigerian Dwarf's milk but needed a breed that produced a little bit more!

Doe 3

Mini Nubians have the flavor profile of a Nigerian Dwarf but gives us a bigger quantity more similar to the Nubian breed.

Basically, we get nice, sweet, milk without having to deal with the size of a bigger breed.

Feel free to check out our goats and their pedigree's by clicking on the appropriate links above or to see a "big picture" snapshot, click here
